Topic: Health, Diet And Vets / Kitty Dandruff/ fur issues What do you feed the cat? Is she inside only?
I bet it's allergy related and something in her food. This is what happened with Chance, see in my blog, Wheat Tigers, Corn Wolves. Bathing will help ease the itchies, but you have to work, from the INSIDE, out for best results.
Think of your car....if you put low grade gas in it, how does it run? |

Topic: Health, Diet And Vets / Parasite Prevention A park friend applied monthly flea & tick prevention liquid to his dog, and thought, hmm. I'll put a few drops on the cat, so he won't get fleas. That night he woke up, the cat was foaming at the mouth. Rushed him to emergency. He did not make it ;-( ALWAYS read package directions thoroughly. What you use on dogs, you usually can NOT use on cats. |

Topic: Fun / How did you get your name? Spencer (at the Rainbow Bridge) - a blue pt himmie that was so elegant and handsome, I named him Lady Di's surname; Keeper - found in our back yard & decided she was a keeper; Chance - from the movie Homeward Bound; Delilah - she's a tiny girly girl; Claudia - for the cute character on Party of Five (Lacey Chabert); Bodhi - for the wonderful bodhi tree; and Toy - because Claudia & Bodhi thought he was their own personal stuffed toy. He's MUCH bigger than them, now! I named a friend's cat the cutest name & it fits perfectly! She is gray & a little white tummy. long whiskers & a pointy nose. Her name is : Mouse! >''.."< |

Topic: Fun / Accidental Inventor of Fantastic Cat Toy? Yes ~ our mom has a little craft she calls "Endangered Fleecies" blankets. When she makes them, she has 4"x4" square scraps. One day she had this idea......take one of the squares, put about 1/2 teaspoon of organic catnip pellets into the center. Gather the corners into a bundle shape and tie with hemp cord. Clip off the ends of the cord. Store the bundles in the catnip container, with some of the loose pellets (to keep them potent). When we aren't playing with one, she puts it back in the container. Her mom's yorkies go crazy over them too. If you email her (purr real loud) she might send you one! Taz, cellophane can be easily swallowed and cause blockage. If our mom sends you two bundles, will you promise not to play with it, again??! >".."< |

Topic: Advice, Training And Tips / Lost Cat? When Toy was "lost" (Case of the Missing Toy on my blog), I realized how very important it is to have these items/procedures, in place. Luckily, I did! 1) Have a recent color photo. You will need it for a poster/flyer 2) Make a flyer and include the photo with this info: Lost Cat, name, coloring, discerning markings, behaviors, last seen location, microchipped? collared?, your name and phone number. I also include: needs medicine. If the lost pet is really sweet/endearing someone who finds it & is thinking of keeping it is less likely to, if they believe it has a medical condition. Trust me, it happens. Also, include a reward. 3) Call/visit pet supply stores, local shelters, animal control, vets, police department. Drop off or email the flyer. 4) Put the flyer in a laminated pocket and post in your neighborhood/park (as allowed). Leave copies with neighbors in the vicinity. 5) Post in www.petfinder.com (under lost pets) 6) Take a classified ad in your local paper. They are usually low-cost/free. 7) Most importantly, try to stay calm. |
