We’re starting to collect photos of cats with their personal copies of The World Is Your Litter Box for a new “Cat Photos” page on the official Litter Box website and would love to include your fabulous feline in this one-of-a-kind rogue’s gallery. Simply take a photo of your cat (or cats) with the book and send it to quasi@theworldisyourlitterbox.com. Topic: General / BOOK BANNING - SCARIER THAN A TRIP TO THE VET!

Hi Fellow Cats & Cat Lovers,

As you may or may not know, Sarah Palin, while serving as the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, asked the local librarian how she could go about banning books that contained what some voters considered to be inappropriate language. The librarian, Mary Ellen Baker, was understandably aghast, and reports generated at the time indicate that Palin threatened to fire Baker for failing to provide full support to the mayor.

Now let me say this…as a cat, I can’t vote, but I find even the SUGGESTION of book banning to be VERY disturbing. Suppose you went to your local library to check out The World Is Your Litter Box and found that some misguided dog lover in a position of authority had caused it to be banned. Regardless of your political affiliation or who you intend to vote for on November 4th, you’ve got to admit that the possibility of having a would-be book banner a heartbeat away from the presidency is more than a little scary.

I would also like to remind Ms. Palin and all other potential book banners that freedom of speech is expressly protected in the First Amendment, which is part of the Bill of Rights in the United States Constitution.

But, hey… I’m just a cat.  What do I know?

Hi Fellow Cats,

With Labor Day weekend upon us, I have a couple questions. First, what the heck is “labor” anyway?  I think it has something to do with humans working to buy kitty food for us cats, but I’m not really sure. And if humans take “labor” day off, shouldn’t the holiday be called Nap Day?

Much to my amazement and surprise, The World Is Your Litter Box is ALREADY IN MANY BOOK STORES around the country!!!  I knew the on-line booksellers had shipped Litter Box, but I didn’t think it would actually be in stores until May 6th. I guess strange things happen in the publishing industry… or maybe Sterling Publishing just succumbed to the demands of cats around the world and put it out early. At any rate, your friend Quasi is now officially a published author!
