Topic: Support And Suggestions / Help I have a stray pregnant cat!

Hello Everyone,

You have been so helpful when I got my first cat and didn't know a lot however...two cats later I am in a predictament and I need your help.

Recently a female blue russian cat has chosen to adopt us. I started feeding her and have a blanket under the porch for her and she seemed content. Well I went away for a week vacation and my cat sitter told me he thinks she is pregnant. When I came back to town it took her 2 days before we finally saw her ( I think she travels to another house) and now that she knows I am back she is in the carport. I have no clue on how to take care of a pregnant cat. I can't afford to take her to the vet currently because I just lost my job but I have plenty of food and water available for her. I did give her Advantage to help with the fleas and ticks becuase they are so bad out here. She is a darling cat but please tell me what I should do. If she choses to give birth here I want to ensure its safe for her. We have a lot of dogs that wander in the yard but seem harmless and I know they have a home but I am just so worried about taking care of babies and what to do for her. I know she needs her shots and thats another worry. Now thats she is pregnant can she even have them? What kind of shelter can I give her that would be safe for her and her kittens? She cant live inside because I have 2 cats that are set in there ways .

Any advice friends?

Please help.... I think she is in the early stage of pregnancy because her nipples are enlarged however she isnt large yet.

Topic: Support And Suggestions / 1st time cat owner

Scarlett is better as far as being skiddish with me. She tolerates being held for kisses but it doesnt last long. I went to the vet today with Suki and told them my concerns for Scarlett, not only is her breath bad but she has a huge appetite and gain alot of weight. So starting tomorrow she is on a diet. Its hard for me to not feed her when she is begging me at 4am. LOL but I do plan on taking her to the vet for bloodwork to be sure her thyroid isnt wack and her gums are ok.

Thanks for the input. I believe your right each cat does have unique personalitys and we need to let them be who they are and love em every chance they let you.

Topic: Support And Suggestions / Introducing kitten to cat

Things are getting better, slowly... lol. Mommy has a water bottle handy if they get too hissy. But they have actually come nose to nose today without hissing (very good sign) so I still think there is a chance they will either get along or learn to tolerate each other. Thanks for asking. Not sure why it is lined out. kinda funny.

I need all the suggestions I can get. My 5 year old cat is sulking and hissing at my kitten. I have a separate bedroom setup for my new kitten until she gets bigger. Does anyone have any ideas how to smooth the transition. The whole reason behind getting a new cat was to keep the other company. I am giving special attention to both cats. How do I get them to bond together with out killing each other.

Hello, I have questions about my cat and was hoping to gets some answers from pros like yourself. Q1. What can cause my cat to be so skidish when we are so patient with her and dont run after her in anyway? I was thinking she has had a bad expierence in her past or something. any ideas? Q2. My cat has bad breath although her teeth are pearly white. I have tried mint drops in her water and minty treats. no luck. any ideas? I am sure I will have more questions. Hope to hear back. Thanks all
