I was sitting at the Gold Coast animal shelter feeling down and scared.  My brother was gone - he was there one minute and gone the next.  I was not feeling well - some strange big thing with two legs had picked me up and put a needle in me, and I dont remember much after that.  I had bits of annoying string sticking out near my leg.   All of a sudden, my now owners, came into the enclosure to find me sitting on a chair.  Of course I had to be nice and cute for them, and they spoke about how the shelter's name for me, Sparks, didn't seem to ring true.  I couldn't reveal my true self in case they didn't want me! 

How could they not fall in love with me?  Next thing I knew, I was being taken from the shelter in a cardboard box that said I was Whiskas, and I ended up at Mum and Dad's place.  They showed me my new home, and I was in love.  It didn't take long for me to be comfortable, and even though I am now Cleo, they soon realised why the shelter had called me Sparks! 

I love sleeping under their bed, and waking them up around 4am for cuddles and patting.  This is when I will settle down on the bed after much attention and suckle a nipple for a while.  I'm not a lap cat, but I must always be where Mum or Dad are.  They always talk to me, and ask me what I'm doing.  Of course I can't talk back, but they seem to enjoy making up stories of their own.
