I'm Nosy, I'm Curious
I'm a nosy cat. At least once a day I have to stick my nose in every room in the house. I'll go from room to room and "investigate" every nook and cranny. It is exhausting work but I must make sure my environment is on the "up and up."
If you don't check things out every now and then you may be in for a surprise as humans are always moving things from one place to the other in order to confuse us.
There is a closet door in the kitchen that I insist my dad open at least once a day so that I can go in and check things out. It only takes a few minutes but it satisfies my curiousity.
When I go outside for my walks I always put my nose to the air in order to get the weather forecast. Today it was 36 degrees with wind at the West at 10 mph. Humidity was 55% and the barometer was rising.
The house is 70 degrees with no wind to speak of (thank goodness they did not have beans for dinner) with a forecast of much food and luvins' to come on the overnight.

I'm A Happy Cat
It is so easy to lose track of time on the www. Yet my tail wags on with so much love...
I'm a happy cat. I love waking up in the morning and waiting for my Dad to finish his morning coffee and then we pad into the computer room (me marking my four same spots) and then by the feed bowl as he pours in my half of cup of "lovins."
I'm a solitary cat. I see other cats on my walks outside and sometimes outside my windows when I'm inside. My Dad goes off to work and I luxuriate in the morning sun and nap during the afternoon. When he comes home it's happy time. I eat some more and race around the house and then we go for our walk. After a bit of Internet we get down on the couch and snuggle for a long winter's nap.
I have a good routine. I'm a happy kitty and filled with love. I love in the moment and I'm teaching my dad to do the same. I'm in love, I'm with love, I reflect love.
I'm a happy cat!

A Clean Litter Box
Isn't it nice when the litter box is clean. I mean sometimes my Dad forgets for a few days and I have to find a clean space in the box to poop or pee. It can be difficult at times. I know they have those fancy self-cleaning ones now but my Dad can't afford one and I don't know if I would like it. You know that we cats are creatures of habit! Anyway, the box is clean today and overall he does a pretty good job of keeping it clean!
I went to the vet last week and got my shots and my regular once a year exam. I lost one and a half pounds and the vet was proud of me and said if we can me down to 10 lbs. all will be well. Then the MF!!! tried to trim my nails. He got about four done and then I threw a "hissy" fit! He took me downstairs and tried to put me in some harness but that didn't work either. You don't F!! with my nails. I use the trees outside to keep them trim and fit. My poor Dad was embarassed and said he hadn't seen me that angry since I tried to change from the Animal Planet documentary on birds a few weeks ago. So all in all the vet visit went well - I showed them both who was boss and I got a clean bill of health!
I'm happy about daylight savings time. When I wake my Dad up now there will be sunshine for me to luxuriate in. My Dad reminded me today of the "freezing rule." No walks when the temperature is below 32 degrees or the wind chill makes it to cold. He loves me so much and takes good care of me. I don't mind the rule - he's right. Sometimes I don't like it outside and all I have to do is rub up against him (my signal for "let's go in") and he scoops me up and inside we go.
I want to say Meow to all my friends and that "Diamond Walk" video will be up before the year is out.
Treats and a clean litter box to all.

One Happy Cat
I haven't been blogging much lately. I'm just a happy cat! Life is good. My daddy feeds me twice a day, he takes me for a walk every other day and "gimmes luvvins" countless times a day. My naps have been great lately. It's getting cool so I like to snuggle with dad - he has this one blanket that feels like cat fur and it drives me to purring like crazy! Autumn is one of my favorite months. The cool air energizes me and my tail moves faster and my meows get louder. I'm a happy and contented cat enjoying each moment and grateful to have someone who loves and cares for me!

Dad's Back
I'm sitting in the window looking outside and dictating my blog to the guy who feeds me, walks me, cleans out my litter box and gives me luvvins. His new duty is to take dictation for this catblog and type it as my paws are too delicate for the keyboard.
My guy has been back from Florida for a week now but he's been so busy that he hasn't had time for the blog. But he's had plenty of time for ME! When he came back from Florida I must of "mewed" and spoke loudly to him for over an hour. He was happy to see me but I smelled another cat on him (a male no less!). Seems that when he visits his daughter they have a cat now named Nebo. Dad printed out some pictures of him and WOW he sure is handsome. Too bad he's married to a cat who lives with him named "Little Girl."
Things here are getting back to normal. I got tired of being downstairs and missed my daily walks but Mr. Lindsey feed me good and gave me good luvvins while dad was away. I'm enjoying the end of summer and look forward to the cool autumn evenings (even better sleeping weather!).
Meow to my old friends and I hope to make some new ones in the days ahead.

See You Soon
My dad is going away to see his daughter. He's not taking me but that's OK. He's leaving me downstairs where it's cool and I'll have the place all to myself! Mr. Lindsay will come in and feed me, change the litter and gimme some luvvins.
I've been giving dad the "evil eye" all day because he's been trying to pack discretely but I know what he's up to. I'm a smart kitty. I'll miss him and I know he'll miss me but as the wise old Buddah cat said "absence makes the heart grow Fonda."
So we'll be taking some time off from MyCatSpace. Meow to all my friends and "scratch ya' later."

Inside With Catnip
It was raining "cats and dogs" outside today so I didn't go for a walk. It is 56 degrees now so there will be some good snuggles tonight in the bed with the covers.
I've been browsing the web tonight looking for a new bed and leash. I've worn out those items and need to get some new ones.
I had a good "play" session today and really got into the catnip. I raced around the house and dad chased me from room to room. Pretty good for a 10 year old! Catnip sures make me act wild but I don't indulge in it very often. My outside friend Donovan looks like he's on catnip 24/7! But who am I to judge other cats!

Dog Days Of Summer?
I had to correct dad today when he said "it's the dog days of August Diamond." He should know that dogs don't have days - the only good dog expression is "works like a dog."
No, I don't dislike dogs. It's just that this expression "dog days of summer/August" gets on my nerves. Everybody knows that everyday is a "cat day." Sorry all you pooches out there but cats rule the world. The dogs are only barking up the wrong tree.
Had a great nap today on the loveseat downstairs. Dad is going out tomorrow to get more cat food. What a nice guy!

My 7 Year Anniversary
It was 7 years ago that dad and mom went to the local animal shelter and picked me out and took me home. I was only 3 years old then and had been in the shelter for over 9 months after someone abandoned me after I had two litters of kittens. My name was Gypsy then. I don't have many fond memories of my early days but the last 7 years have made up for it. I much prefer being Diamond to a Gypsy.
I now get lots of attention, lots of good food, daily walks, playtime, luvvins, and plenty of places to cat nap both upstairs and downstairs. I have lots of toys but most of all I am safe and secure in the knowledge that someone loves me and cares for me. I think that is what we all want and need in this life.
Gee, I'm getting philosophical (just like my dad). Today was a great day as has every day for the last 7 years. Thank you for taking me from the shelter. I have a home and love. What more could a kitty cat want!

Meow Mix Tape
Had a great walk today. Cornered a squirrel behind our BBQ grill in the backyard. I finally let him escape up the side of the house with his bushy tail between his legs. About five minutes after that, I cornered a mouse in between some bricks by the driveway. I caught him once and threw him up in the air but "everpresent" dad who holds the leash said not to hurt him/her. Something about this might be somebody's daddy or mommy and that it deserved to see the sun rise and set for as many days as the Allmighty would allow. Dad thinks he's quite the philosophy genuis but he doesn't have the instincts that I have! I also trapped a bug in the house which he had no problem of squashing with a paper towel. These humans and their "double standards" they can explain away anything!
In the afternoon Dad made me a Meow Mix Tape with the following songs on it:
01) Three Cool Cats - Beatles
02) Stray Cat Blues - Rolling Stones
03) Cat In The Window - Petula Clark
04) Cat's In The Cradle - Harry Chapin
05) Cool For Cats - Squeeze
06) The Love Cats - The Cure
07) Year Of The Cat - Al Stewart
08) Walking My Cat Named Dog - Norma Tanega
09) What's New Pussycat - Tom Jones
10) Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nugent
Even though we disagree about my instincts and his philosopy we do agree on music. After he made the tape I layed on his chest and purred as he gave me "luvvins" for nearly a half hour! What a guy! There's so much more of him to enjoy when he is on vacation.
I've been staying up too late the last few nights so I'm going to grab a snack and a drink and head off to bed. Sweet dreams fellow felines!
