Request mom on myspace!

If your humans have a regular myspace, mom would love to have them as a friend. Let her know they are from mycatspace.  We've never met anyone on mycatspace that we didn't like! Cat people are like that. Below is my mom's myspace address or just click on the link under the happy face "mood" indicator in the top left block on my profile.

Update on Muffin

11/8/08

UPDATE ON MUFFIN:

Sadly, Muffin is still missing.  We are all hoping she was taken in by a kind loving family.  Cindy has since taken in a stray she found while searching for Muffin.  At least one less kitty is lost and alone out there.  We are still praying that Muffin shows up safe someday soon.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A lot of you have asked me how the search for Muffin has gone.  Below is Cindy's myspace blog from yesterday about Muffin.  Cindy wanted me to tell you all how much she appreciates your concern and prayers for Muffin.  As you will read, Cindy's search for Muffin has lead her to discover just how many homeless cats there are.

Here is the blog:

Its' been quite a day.  Another emotional one for me.  Good News and Bad News.

I was in the Apartment Complex Office signing my renewal lease today, when I mentioned in passing that I had been feeding the poor ferel cats that have been hanging around my door.  (I didn't realize the number of stray cats in this area, until Muffin was missing, when I started yelling kitty, kitty, kitty, and cats come from everywhere, regardless of where you are in the complex.)

I also learned last week that the humane society will not accept cats or pick up cats because they are full to the brim.

Now today, I was told that I was in Violation of my Contract, if I put ANY cat food out for a cat that was not mine and listed on the lease.   I literally lost it.  I blew up, and I bet you are too as you're reading this.  I said, you mean to tell me that you can't, or aren't, going to do anything about the people who shot my cat with a pellet gun or struck her with a bat, or dropped her off in a ravine.....................BUT, I feed a stray cat some food and I am in Violation!!!!

I did not have to pay a deposit for my cat because she is a companion cat.  I asked them, how much do tenants have to pay when they move in with a cat.  They advised me  $400.00   PLUS   $50.00 EACH month.

So, that is why there are so many stray cats!!!  People move in and can't afford to pay the fee so they turn them loose.  And there are kittens having kittens, having kittens.

Ridiculous!!!  Something has to be done.  I can't watch the poor things and know they are going hungry.  Deep heavy sigh.  How can people be so insensitive.  Their theory is that if no one feeds them, they will go somewhere else.  The terrain here is very rocky and hilly.  I don't know where they think the cats are going to go.

On to the good news.  In my daily search for Muffin, I was flagged down by a man today.  He said, I think I saw your cat this morning.  I just started shaking and couldn't get him to speak the words fast enough.  Some of the people around here have the southern drawl, some not so much, but this guys was thick and I didn't think he would ever get the words out.   Finally, he said he saw the same cat this morning that he saw the day Muffin was thrown in the Ravine.  Today, she crossed the road out of some tall grass and down into a ditch with a stream.  We have been putting cat food down there every night for not only Muffin, but a bunch of little tiny kittens we've seen there.  She would be coming from an area that I  cannot get to.  There is a cornfield, a field of cows, and then a barn way down the hill.  He said that was around 7:30 this morning, and suggested I come tomorrow morning about the same time.  I went ahead and looked through the ditches and a closest part of the woods, but I can't get through that thick grass.  I did see a baby snake come out of there.  I'm not real fond on  them, and hope and pray they don't get my Muffin before I can get her.  We are going back down pretty soon to put more cat food out on the rock and take one last look for today.  I'd really like to see her this evening, because it is supposed to rain tonight.

I feel really encouraged that he thinks he saw her.  Please continue to pray for Muffins' safe return, that she will allow me to pick her up if I do see her, or that she will come to me.

I also request prayer that something be done about all of the strays and ferel colonies, that something be done to not only feed them, but some kind of a capture, spay/neuter, release program be improvised to eliminate the ever growing population of homeless kitties.

Thanks for your continued love, support, and prayers.
  Hugs,

Cindy and Muffin and Kammy

Please pray for missing kitty.

I have an online friend who is devastated that her cat, Muffin, is missing.  My friend is disabled and her Muffin means so much to her.  Muffin slipped out when someone opened the door.  She has been frantically searching for her and found out some disturbing news.  Muffin was scared and ran in someones house and hid under a bed.  The woman called her husband to get the cat.  He proceeded to shoot Muffin with a pellet gun.  The wife then took Muffin and threw her in a ravine.  To make matters worse, my friend's area was hit by the hurricane.  My friend has been to the ravine and the surrounding area looking for Muffin but to no avail.   The hurricane blew all her missing cat posters down.  The shelters in her area told her they are not taking in any animals so if someone would bring Muffin in as a stray would they take her?  The worse thing of all is when she called the police, instead of arresting the man for shooting Muffin and the wife for throwing her in the ravine they yelled at my friend for not having a collar on Muffin!!  Muffin was an indoor cat.  My friend is so beside herself thinking of Muffin out there scared and hurt.  Please say a prayer for Muffin's safe return.  She does not have a mycatspace but she does have a wonderful regular myspace for Muffin.  Thank you in advance for anyone who reads this and puts Muffin and my friend in their prayers.  Hopefully the power of prayer will bring Muffin home safely.
