I have been here since I was 7 weeks old. I was from a litter of 5. My new Mummy didn't choose me, I chose her. I found I had a big brother when I came here. He was called Kipling and was very good to me. At one time I was one of 6 cats, Kipling, Pepkins, Tilly, Cleo, Boots and me. Three of them have since died. I now have a new little brother (or should that be bother?) Charlie.

I used to be on Facebook, but the administators removed me just for being a cat. I'm so glad to have found this site and an looking forward to making new friends.

Kipling came from the Cats Protection rescue centre. His exact birth date is unknown, his age when he came to us was estimated at 12-18 months. He had been neglected and had lost a lot of his fur. We were told that he didn't like other cats, but we soon found that was not the case. He soon made friends with other cats in the neighbourhood.

He was very friendly, playful and loving. When we got him a playmate the following year (Shelley) the first thing he did was wash her face!

He was a fusy eater who expected a new taste experience at every meal. His favourite was fresh chicken.

His behaviour started to change a few months before he died. He would sit and howl for no particular reason. We thought maybe he had some form of senility.

He became noticeably very unwell at the beginning of May 2007. He was unable to stand or walk for the last 2 days of his life. Tests were inconclusive, the vet said Kipling most likely had a brain tumour.

Died in the afternoon of 14th May 2007.

My name is Cleo. I was born at my family's home. They didn't know my mummmy was pregnant, so I was something of a surprise.

I have always been shy, I can live alongside other cats but don't have much to do with them. I don't like much handling by humans, even the ones I know. If I get picked up I usually wet myself.

I live upstairs as I like to be alone. I have eveything I need in the spare room; bed, food, water and litter box. I prefer to sleep on the floor under the shelf unit.

I don't go out much, I prefer my home comforts. I am currently on a diet as the vet says I'm too fat. I weigh 15lbs.

I didn't have a very good start I life. Original owner was a druggie, who moved house and asked a neighbour to look after me for a couple of weeks. He didn't come back for me. The neighbour was an alcoholic, and although he was not unkind, he didn't know how to care for me properly. He lived in one room and shut me in a cupboard whenever I got too lively.

A friend of a friend heard about it and offered to give me a home. I couldn't believe my luck. I was able to go outside for the first time. There are birds, squirrels, sometimes foxes, and other cats in the neighbourhood.

There were 3 other cats here when I came and one of them, Boots, (who has since died) kept trying to fight me. Cleo keeps away from me and hisses when she sees me. Shelley is my friend.

I love it here. I am allowed all over the house, even the beds. I really like going outside and chasing the squirrels but I haven't caught one yet.
