Rescue Work
Just my little corner of the internet-
I work with a rescue group in Palmer-Wasilla, Alaska called "Mat-Valley Kitties"
Due to the over cat population and breeding out of control here in the valley, Many cats aren't given the chance to a decent home life. Instead, they are forced to live outside in our freezing winters and our rainy summers.
Why are so out of control you ask? Alaska's laws on animals aren't as influced as they should be. The laws on animal abuse are weak, thus making them felxible enough to move around freely. Many people in Alaska have a deferent view on pets than most southern states. It's very common here to see a person pull over onto the side of the road and boot their pet out of a car.
This is where the Mat-Valley rescue groups come in. I myself have assisted in many rescue projects with Mat-valley kitties. Everything from dumping a mom cat and kittens in a parkinglot, to watching someone throw their pet out a car door going down the street, to forcing their own pets to live outside in the freezing cold.
If you are located in Alaska, please, take a look at our kitties up for adoption! Every kitty deserves a warm, loving home.
