It's been a bittersweet day

Well, Bright Eyes and her babies are now in the care of a foster family. I broke down in front of the lady because I had become so attached to both the mom and the babies. The lady hugged me and reassured me they would all be well taken care of. I told her I wanted the runt and my brother in law wants one as well once they are weened. I am so thankful that there are organizations out to help people like me. I am sad and relieved at the same time. The lady gave me her home number and I am going to check in on her and her babies from time to time.

I want to take this moment and thank you all for your love and support through all of this. It has been stressful and you all have helped me a great deal.

As soon as I get the runt which was the last born and was quite a suprise to say the least, I will post pics. She is black and white with gray on her back side. She is the only one with gray from her mommy.

Thanks again everyone...I know in my heart I did the right thing.

Ditto what Krying said!  You did a WONDERFUL job, and I'm sure that Bright Eyes and babies are all very grateful, very healthy, and very happy!  Yes, you did do the right thing, and in my eyes, this is a very happy ending!  Congratulations!  Can't wait till you get your new kitten!  We'll be waiting for pictures!

My kitty Willow had a foster mom who takes in mother's with kittens and  kittens.  While Willow and her bro were there she had around 30 kittens living  together.  They were separated by families each with 2 story cages .  The ones who had already been tested for diseases would get let out and all play together.  They had a blast.  All different sizes, all  having fun.  Tons of toys.  When old enough, and spay ect. they are taken to Petsmart/Petco on weekends for adoption days and then adopted into good homes.  Mommies too.  The Foster families love, love, love animals.  They have to because it is tons of work and money.  So you did the right thing.  Because you took Bright eyes in, she had a safe place to have her kittens.  They all probably would not have survived left out side to their own devices.  And giving them to a foster family, allows them to all be spayed and given shots and a shot at a new home.  So be proud.  You are part of the solution.

Frown I know you must be sad, but Bright Eyes will be taken care of.  I'm sure she's very thankful for what you've done for her.  She knew you guys were the ones with the best hearts in the neighborhood who would help her in her time of need, so she found you.  We can't wait to see pics and hear about the new baby.  Maybe the people who took her could start up a catspace page! haha Tongue out
