I had just moved to our new house, and was helping mom with making the yard somewhat presentable, after all the bulldozing and grading had been done to the land to make room for our mobile home. A few little girls from down the street  came running into our yard with a tiny black and white kitten in tow, screaming,

"Please take him and keep him! If you don't, Robby will drown him!"

These little girls were desperate, and terribly afraid that their older brother would proceed with the execution of the tiny little ball of fur if he was not taken by someone else.

He was fleabitten and wormy, and had a bad case of earmites, which took me months to treat. He is now a full grown and beautiful tuxedo adult with no health problems at all. Though he's been an outside cat since he's come here, he sleeps inside when it's cold, and loves taking naps with me. I still think it so sad that all his siblings perished because of a delinquent teenage boy...but I am glad that MY little boy is safe here with me.
