Give zion time to get to know you and trust you. We have had Simba, our Savannah for a year now. He was already 1 1/2 old when we got him. He did not want to be touched at all, in fact pretty bitey when we got him. He will tolerate me now hugging him and kissing his face. Its not his favorite thing but he has figured out that is what I do for affection. He now sleeps with us at night and when he is in the mood he will sit on a lap, very rare mood for that. He likes to just sit next to you on the couch with is body touching ours. We can sneek some scratches under his chin which makes him purr.
