I'm Louie, and I've been Mama's girl for 10 years.  I was an only cat for a really long time and I really loved that.  Me and Mom did EVERYTHING together.  She even traveled with me and I've been to lots of places.  I grew up in Iowa and I got to ride in a moving truck to Northern California.  So I've seen mountains and everything.  I got to go on some trips with Mom too- I've been to Hollywood and I got to ride in an airplane back to Iowa once and I've been to Oregon.  But then Mom started traveling a lot more for work and she thought a second cat would be good for me, so we got Melvink.  Then all these scrawny annoying Yellows started moving in.  Then she met a boy (I call him Dad now) and he moved in, and get this- he brought this gi-normous Golden Retriever with him!   Ooooohhh... I hate dogs!  What happened to my nice, peaceful, serene life with Mom?  I'm adapting.  I can tolerate the other cats.  I will be in the same room with the dog, only because Mom is there, but everytime I walk by him, I punch him in the face.  He's friends with the other cats, but when I'm around, he looks away and pretends he doesn't see me.  But I see him.... oh boy, do I see him....  

My favorite things to do are to play treats with Mom and eat grass on our enclosed back patio.  I sure do love a good snack of grass.  I also like to sit in the bathroom while Mom's in the shower and then we play Uppy (I flop over her shoulder) while she brushes her teeth.  We have played this game for 10 years.  I also consider myself lucky because even with all these other animals around, I'm the only one that gets to sleep in bed with Mom. 

I'm Melvink and I don't really talk, I just squeak.  I moved in with Mom when I was too little to remember.  She fed me with a bottle and made me grow big.  I've never been able to jump.  I can get onto the couch, but that's about as high as I can go.  I move very slowly.  I like to run and play sometimes, but mostly I am very cautious.  I plan my moves very carefully and make sure I will be able to do it before I move.  I sit and stare at the table for a few minutes before I try to jump onto it.  But I'm very peaceful and serene, I'm not a fraidy cat, I'm just not very strong so I have to make sure I will be able to make a jump before I try.  I have a very beautiful face with green eyes and a big lion's mane with dainty little feet and I sit very proper.  I have long hair and a big fluffy tail.  For fun I like to play Herd of Cat with TYK and Kiddo and sometimes Louie.  I also like springy toys and catnip.  I also like to lick the tips of people's fingers, one at a time until your whole hand is done. 

Helloooo, I'm Kiddoooo.  I look a lot like my brother TYK, except I wear a red collar.  TYK's my hero and taught me everything I know.  I was born under Mom's bed, just like him.  I had a brother and sister too.  My sister has a good family.  My brother only has 3 legs so he's real special, and he also ended up with a very special family.  But I'm Kiddo.  I ain't the brightest star in the sky, but I'm a real special little boy.  I like to spend plenty of time by myself, so I hide under blankets on the chairs.  If you touch me while I'm there, I'll meow.  I like to sit on Mom's lap, and when I do, I look at her inquisitively, and I reach out and touch her face a lot.  A lot of times I like to roll on my back in her arms.  I get to see my biological Mom and Grandma a lot- they live outside.  I like to play a lot.  I love to get into the basket of toys and see what's in there.  My favorite game is Herd of Cat with the other cats.   I wear a jingle bell on my collar, just like my brother.  I used to get to play outside with him, but then he got lost for a while so now we all stay in, which is fine with me.  My best human friend is my Mom.  She gets me, which is good because lots of times I'm confused but she still gets it.  Dad doesn't quite understand me, I don't think, so we get along but we don't cuddle much.  My best cat friend is my brother TYK.  He's real cool.

Hi!  We're LYK and Grammy.  This is LYK speaking.  When our human Mom moved into her apartment, we were already here.  So were my two brothers.  The three of us were just little babies, and our biological mom is Grammy.  My two brothers live out in the woods somewhere behind our house.  We see them on very rare occassions.  Grammy (my mom) is kinda wild too.  She comes onto the patio with me to eat some food, but no human has ever touched her.  Me and Grammy are different colors but we have the same face.  So I was the runt of my litter, I'm just a tiny little thing, and when Mom moved in, I immediately adopted her.  Sometimes I let her pet me, but I'm pretty skittish, even though pettin's feels real good when I allow it. 

So we call our family "The Yellows."  Grammy ain't yellow, but she's a Yellow.  She's Grammy Yellow.  I'm Little Yellow Kitty (LYK), best known as Lil' Yeller.  I do talk a lot, so that's appropriate.  I've had 3 litters of kittens.  My first litter was when I was real young and I just didnt' know what to do. I got scared and popped them out on Mom's front step and just left them there.  Mom came out and found 3 of them already passed away, one baby yellow barely hanging on, so she rushed him to the vet, but he passed away that afternoon.  My first litter was not a good experience for me, or for Mom, who cried through the whole ordeal. 

Things went a little better with my second litter.  By this time, I'd gotten to know Mom a little better and had even spent some time inside the house.  So I realized this was a safe place and had my second litter under the bed.  Mom didn't even know until she heard little meows when she was asleep.  There were 3 of them, but 2 completely disappeared without a trace (inside the house, nobody was allowed out for a while after the birth).  The third was another yellow, a real trooper, a true survivor.  His name is TYK (Tiny Yellow Kitty) and he lives in the house with Mom now and he's a real cool cat. 

Things went better with my third litter too.  There were 6 of them and they were all yellow, but again, 3 disappeared without a trace (again, inside the house).  One of the remaining three only has 3 legs and he found a very special home and is doing really good.  A second also found a home with a nice young girl.  The third is Kiddo, and he tried to move out a few times, but he kept coming back and the neighbor girl that was taking him wasn't taking care of him, so finally one time when he came back, Mom didn't let him leave again.  So now 2 of my sons are living in the house. 

At long last, Mom realized what she had to do and took me to the vet, so I will no longer have any kittens.  So now I'm just happily living around the apartment, plenty of food to eat, and I'm allowed inside all I want, but I really don't want to go in there with all those cats and the stuffy air.  I prefer the great outdoors, where I have Grammy to play with and grass to eat and bugs to chase and warm cars to stretch out in the sun on.  Yup, life is good!
