My name is Snoopy and no matter what other animals may enter my house, I'm still the ruler of ALL.  No one better ever mess with my spirit or I'll kick their butt...Just like I did with the bat that got into mom and pop's bedroom.  You mess with my pop and all bets are off.   I was brought home and was not so sure about domestic life as I was born in an alley behind a hardware store.  Next thing I know I'm in a house with a litter box and a food bowl.  I learned quickly and was happy for a number of years being the only child.  Next thing I know my step-mommy had a housefire and she and another cat (YUCK!!) was living with me.  I hated Ernie and let him know it everyday.  I soon learned that he was going nowhere and my step-mommy was staying also.  I finally adjusted and then....a DOG moved in.  Since then I learned to stay high- like on the dining room table, cupboards, etc.  I ALWAYS got my daddy times, like saturday mornings when mom (yes, I call her mom) was still in bed with the other rugrats so I could snuggle with dad.  I also carved out my niches with mom- like when she was doing laundry I would join her on top of the dryer or cleaning the kitchen I would look over her from the cupboards.   Mom always told me that I was special that I got to go on the cupboards- anywhere I want (like she has much choice!)  Mom always treated me well- she even took me outside on a leash saying the leash was for my own good!  The last year she allowed me to go out on my own- being I was such an ol' experienced gal and have learned not to go far.  I  never went far- just off the back porch, hiding in the hostas- hoping to avoid that damn dog and just enjoying that fresh air.

Hey Peeps!  I'm Zoey.  I started my life abandoned on the side of a road in a box with my litter mates.  I came to live with my mom's neighbors, Kathy and Eva, and loved every minute of my six years there.  I was always friends my neighbors, Mar and Tim...next thing I know they're mom and pop.  I've gotten used to my doggy counter-parts and have even knapped beside Gracie (she's my favorite...Ahh Hmmmm, I mean if I could ever have a favorite dog!!!!)  Ernie and I have had a couple of discussions but we've decided that the other is cool.  We share a food dish and all.

Mom's trying to break me of my outdoor habits.  I wish her the best of luck.  We're working on a compromise of my being in during dark and mom's been shortening my days...lately I've been in most mornings, and out in the afternoons and early evenings.  I come most of time when called to go in...yet..I'm a cat..we're still working on the details!   

Overall, I have to say my new adventure (and I LOVE adventures!) is working out well.  I've found my sleep niches in my new home, I get to go in and out several times throughout the day.  I even like to lay on the side of the hot tub when mom's in there.  I am also lucky enough to have a screened in porch to go onto in the evenings or during questionable weather when mom won't let me go out.

Have to say, I was unsure of this change in my life but things have worked out just fine.  I'm Happy.  I like where I'm at. 

I came to know Tim and Mar by visiting them ever since I moved in behind them.  They laugh and call me a cat who thinks I'm a dog!!  The nerve!  OKAY, Gracie and Lady are cool but I'm NO dog...but I have to admit I come to anyone who calls me and enjoy the company of dogs and cats alike.  I am the ever loving neighborhood cat.  I stayed overnight with a couple who had recently lost their cat and still visit them all the time.  I have another couple I visit all the time that have an elderly doggy of their own that I don't mind exercising by letting her "put me up a tree".  Not to mention the guy with the beard who grills all the time...MMmmmm.  I am the cat that holds the qualities that everyone wishes their cat(s) had.  Tim and Mar only know the half of it....I do have 2 sides of my quiet 'lil village street....
