We found her this morning and she had managed to drag herself from the street to the backyard and into the house.  The Dr. thought she had a broken back but turns out she has a broken pelvis.  She is at home and is on antibiotics and pain killers but I am a student and can't afford surgery.  The Dr. said it could possibly heal on its' own but I want to know if anyone knows the odds of this.  Also, she is mad about being in a kennel all day and doesn't really want to eat much if I bottle feed her what's the best food for her??  Please help.

If she is having trouble eating, sometime you can buy the little jars of babyfood meat such as chicken or beef, no extra goodies in it and no onion.

You can spoon that onto a plate, just a couple of small spoonsfull to start out.

Dont give her any milk, in many cats it causes them to have diarrea. Makes sure she has fresh water daily. You can also cook some boneless skinless chicken breast - without any seasoning, and break pieces off of it for her.

What size crate do you have her in? She needs to have enough room for her litter box, food/water and a place to sleep.  A large dog crate with the wire sides and top can be found at many stores.

Poor baby!  We will all pray for her.  I rescued a stray that was hit by a car.  At first, we thought it was just a broken pelvis but there wound up being lots more damage and she had to be put to sleep.  My point is--- when we thought it was just the pelvis the vet said that it would have to be confined to the smallest crate possible in order to keep it from moving much in order for the pelvis to heal.  I know your kitty needs a litter box but you need to talk to her doctor to see how much room your crate needs to have.  You also need to ask if a litter box is O.K., if she can cause more damage to her pelvis using a box, and if a box is O.K. how shallow does it need to be. I don't remember where your from but here in Georgia in the U.S. there are companies kinda like a credit card company that pays the vet bill and you make payments like a credit card. I don't know if this is available to you or is financially in your price range. I don't really know the details. I am sure someone on our site knows about this. I had to take one of my puppies to the vet last week and I think her discharge info might contain something about it. I'll look. As I said, she is in our prayers.

Hey one is called Care Credit it's mostly for humans but most vets take it too.  Also check out www.petandwildlife.com. They have several options for help.

tiggr - excellent advice about the crate and that link you added for vet help is great. I didn't even know those groups existed. I'm going to keep that handy in case I run into someone who needs it.

well she is eating and peeing but i am waiting on bowel movements now.  she wants out of the kennel so bad.  she actually tried to figure out a way to get out.  she seems to be feeling pretty good but alas i guess i won't know for a while.  she tried to walk yesterday which really freaked me out but i think she figured out that it isn't happening.  i am just so emotionally drained.

She doesn't understand you are trying to help her. She is lucky to have someone care for her.
