When Taz arrived about a month ago, his tail was malformed at the tip. Now there are three distinct crinks. It's hook-like now. He's a mixed breed with his Japanese bobtail attibutes seemingly dominant. What can I expect from this tail? The urban legend gives me the willies.

Forget Urban Legends, It Doesn't Matter What Your Cats Tail Looks Like But If You Are Getting Really Worried You Could Always Get His Tail Docked ,Or Cut Off, So He Looks More Like A Japanese Bobtail. Docking May Sound Bad But Its That Or Gave Up Urban Legends. If I Were You I'd Forget That Urban Legend Nonsense And Care About My Cat Cause Looks Don't Really Matter That Much.

Thanks for your reply....I'm not worried about the Beast's looks--he's GORGEOUS!!!I heard that the tail withers and drops off...and that really creeps me out. I'm embarrassed to even ask: Does that really happen? Am I really this naive??

I Don't Really Know But A Cats Doesn't Just Fall Off! Manxes Are Born Without Tails. I Think Japanese Bobtails Are To. So If He Has A Tail, Mostlikey You Wouldn't Wake Up One Day And Find It Beside Your Bed! Like Most Urban Legends It Wouldn't Happen.
