Does anyone have any i ideas on how I can stop Icarus scratching the walls?  We've tried the water scoosher, yelling, and pinning up old rugs sprayed with cat nip and it doesn't help.
We thought when he got neutered he would have calmed down, but it never worked!

Our cats love the cardboard sratchy boxes you get at the store for cats and we have a couple of cat trees with sisal rope wrapped around them that they love.  Maybe you can find something he enjoys more than the walls and then the walls would be boring. Do you trim his nails? I trim ours about every 10 days or so.

ahh right, because we did have poles and toys, I shall try trimming his nails!
