long claws

my cat Dittem has a really long claw on her paw which catches in the carpet. she won't let me cut it off (she won't let me hold her foot). help?

My cat used to be this way too. I would hold him and gently touch or play with his paws or when he was resting i'd hold his paws just to get him used to letting me near them. You could even try giving her treats when she lets you touch them so that she associates your touching her paws with being praised. It took quite some time, but eventually he got to the point where he was comfortable with me near them, and I could trim his claws. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Thanks for replying. She won't even let me get close to her paws! I hate to admit this but she has a groomer who comes to the house so I may call her to come and cut the claws. The groomer can do more with her than I can!

Groomers are good at those kinds of things. You may even want to ask the groomer for suggestions. Good luck...and I'm going to send a cat pal request to you. :x) Good luck.
