Having all sorts of trouble navigating around... even worse than MDS.  Seems like this is a progressive thing- it keeps getting worse everyday.   Sorry pals... trying to get in touch, but it's driving me nuts.

It's wearing on my patience as well.  I haven't even been able to get into the forum to mention it, so thanks for bringing it up.  Not only is it slow, but it doesn't even work at all most of the time.  Very sad.  I hope someone fixes it soon.  I've noticed mydogspace has always been slow, but at least it eventually works.  I don't know of any other websites that run this slowly.

We haven't notice anything on this end - do you know if this happens at certain time of the day? or if you are using a dial up? So we'll look into it.

I have a cable modem and I have been having trouble for days (actually at least a week).  Hence, I have not been posting lately.  I try but it will just freeze up and say not responding.  I figured it was some massive overhaul and would be back to normal soon.  It all started when the icons for pals, blogs, profile and such started moving around and enlarging when you move your mouse over them.  Problems have been day and night.

Ok -we'll do some more testing here and see if we can nail it down.

(Any info will be helpful - so we can try to reproduce it).

I've noticed it day and night.  Often I get a "proxy error" page (502?, I believe).  If that helps.

And it's not our connection - no problems with any other sites.

You must've fixed it up because everything seems to working great now - thanks!

Yep, I just got on mcs & it's working well again. It wasn't working well for me at all for 5 or 6 days. Now it looks to be back to normal. Great!!!

Interesting - we haven't done anything on our side.

We'll keep our cats eye on this to make sure its not some rats running on the site!

Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request POST /forums/13/topics/129/posts.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

See!  It just happened again.  I hit submit and I got the proxy error. 

I've had periodic trouble for a while... I'm generally only on between 7 and 3:30 weekdays.  One issue is simply trying to log in- I hit the log in button about 10 times and finally get the username and password boxes, then it's just really slow and will lock up and time out at any given point- often before I can even get to my profile.  It's the same thing that was happening at MDS.  It was periodic there also, until it got really bad, then it affected everyone.  But I was having smaller troubles like this long before it became a huge issue.  Occassionally I get the proxy error, occassionally I get a "page cannot be displayed" message, mostly it just quits and doesn't go anywhere...

Everytime I post a blog or message or whatever, I always try to remember to hit Control C before I hit Submit because the lock ups often happen when I'm trying to submit something, and then I lose it, so I copy it first because it's likely I'll have to try again.  This reply is the perfect example- good thing I Control C'ed it first, because this will be my 3rd attempt at submitting.

I'll try to pay closer attention to some of the messages I get and keep posting about it.

That time after I hit Submit, it took a while, I got the proxy error, so I hit the back button, and see that my message has posted...

OK went to send present to 'bunnies', clicked 'bunnies' starred item, clicked submit...and it is on my own page ARRRRRGGGGHHH it is bad enough when the flipping site is sloooooow and things keep getting 'not posted' then you look and they are posted twice!!!...but this had me shouting at a computer screen???  .......guess what it did not respond LOL.....Susie UK's personnal assistant.

We'll dig deeper into this and see if we can track it down.

As too many cats are having this issue - so its very likely to be something here.

Well thank you !!!, today was an absolute doozy!!! Got a Miaow box on screen wherever I went, logged off, logged on...still there, signed off signed on AOL....still there...then all of a suden sitting on a page did not recognise and the box was gone!!!  Definately gremlins around lol, but thanks for taking note of issue.   Pat.....SusieUK  personnal Assistant

I take back what I said about everything working well again.  Haven't seen the proxy error for a while, but it's definitely still VERY SLOWWWW..... zzzzzz

We're trying to recreate the issues here - so any info that you have will be helpful.

As we are not seeing any slowdown and it seems only a handful of members are having the issues. So we'll continue to work on this.

This happens whenever I try to click on any other member's photo (ie, I can't go to anyone else's page), but somehow I got into the Forums with no trouble...

I wish more people would speak up on this, if they're having problems as well.  It's clearly the site, and not the users.  Honestly, it seems to me that only "a handful of people" really regularly and often use this site.  And all of us are having trouble.  Others just log in once in a while and aren't as active, so you probably won't hear from them about it.  The site is messed up somehow and needs to be fixed.  I think it's the server.

oops, I just posted that twice because I got the cat face Olie talked about, so thought I needed to post again, but apparently it posted anyway, despite the cat face.  Very confusing.

catjungle: we are trying to track this down. Please understand, we are trying to reproduce the problem first (so we know what to fix). So far, only a few members are seeing this - so we know there is an issue (since more then one member have reproted it).

If you have any more info (browser version, etc) that can help us locate the problem - please post it here.

I'm on a mac OS X 10.4.11 using Safari.  Camino and Firefox both load everything (on any site) much slower than Safari.   It's possible the problems are worst in the late afternoon although I've had problems later at night as well.

We have also had these problems for quite a while now.  When I'm ready to post in this forum, it either loses my post or the site is running well and I don't follow through.  It seems worse from 1-5 through the afternoon for me.  Some days the site won't connect at all.  Some times the site opens, then I get an error message in my browser, Internet Explorer with a high speed connection, that the site "experienced diffulty and needs to close" and it closes my browser.  If I get the site up okay, then it seems like as soon as I scroll over a photo in the "cool cats" section or in a profile album, the site locks up on me.  This morning the site worked fine, I was able to post some meows, look at pictures, etc. then this afternoon I got the "cat face" error message as soon as I tried to view a photo in an album. Last weekend I wasn't able to keep the site up long enough to log in. Usually, though, if I can get the site up and get logged in, it seems like my problems start as soon as I try to view photos.  I also had problems submitting the last few photos that I put in Frito's album, but I can't remember what error message I received.
