I was so little when mom got me she couldn't tell I was a boy yet. She was going to name me Belle, from Beauty & the Beast, because she said I was a beautiful beast. When she found out I was a guy kitty, she changed it to the masculine form of Belle, which is Beau. Since we're in the South, she now also says it's short for Beauregard, a good name for a Southern Gentlemancat. (And yes, I know a Tallulah kitty.)

Momma kitty never did have a name until after she got pregnant, than I called her, well, Momma Kitty, lol. Izzy and Bagira already had had their names when I brought them home.

Squeakers - It's because of my meow Missy - My full name is Mistletoe. I was brought in off the street not long before Christmas Bennie - The rescue group had named me Benjamin, but it was too long a name for a little kitten (not so little now!) Hailey - For a while, I was just called Hey You while my mom was trying to find me a new home & Hailey evolved from that. Tiny - I was the smallest in the feral cat colony.

Socrates- Daddy named me and momma added the Sterling as a middle name 'cause I'm a silver Maine Coon. I go by Socksie or "The Boy" Murphy- Momma named me after a friend's kitty. I started life as Miss Murphy but ended up being a Mr. Angel- When I was first brought inside ( I was a stray.), I was a mean cat to everyone. So the humans named me the opposite of my then personality. Now I really am an Angel *wink*

My shelter name was Gypsy but when I got to my new home Mommy suggested "Diamond" because her and Daddy like to gamble in Atlantic City and his favorite slot machine is the "Triple & Double Diamond" machines. He also liked the name Diamond because of the song by Seals & Crofts called "Diamond Girl." I like my name. Dad calls me Diamond, Dimer, Princess Di, Pie Pie and when he wants me to glare at him he calls me Gypsy.

Bonnie was named because she was pretty, our "Bonnie" lass. Then she turned out to be mean, like Bonnie from Bonnie & Clyde. So we joked about getting a sweet little boy kitty and calling him Clyde. When Victor adopted me, he told me he liked being Victor, not Clyde, even though it was his shelter name. So Bonnie and Victor they are, opposites and yet definitely cats.

Farah is my name and my previous owner gave it to me. My new owner calls me that but thats only when I'm in trouble, otherwise she calls me Stinky. She says that she calls me that because when she brought me home I was smelly and she says that I had potty problems. She has other names for me but I just ignore those because I'm used to being called Stinky now.

My mummy loves to name kitties and she good at it. Bette' was named because of she's perky and has a bit of wit in her. One week later she just realized that her deceased mother-in-law was named Betty!! (Her real name was Elizabeth but was always called Betty!) Mum asked Dad if it was still okay and had to call her sis-in-law to get it okay'd too. Daddy says he mum would have loved me cuz I act just like her too!! Proud, friendly and loves to eat!! Kylie just came to us as a bundle of energy. Mum was on the internet looking for names and she came across Kylie and it said something about meaning "boomerrang" I play like a boomerrang, prancing in and out, back and forth, you can't catch me!! Then I started to shred everything in my reach so killer was my nickname so I'm killer kylie

I was called Dyson when I lived in my old house because I ate everything (like a hoover!) but when I came to live with my new mummy and daddy they changed my name as it was a change in my life, so now Im called Bonsai, not for any reason, my M&D just liked it! but I have many nicknames the one that I get called the most is 'The Bons The Legend' even my M&D's friends call it me, Im a legend to everyone that know me :-)

Mariposa--'cause Mom's first cat (when she was 6) was named Butterfly. She was beautiful, like me! So, in honor of her she named me Mariposa (Sp.for butterfly). But she calls me Marnie and sometimes Sookie. The shelter people called me Mickey-chan. Eeech! I do not look like a mouse!! I'm definitely a Marnie...just like Hitchcock's mysterious lady with an unknown past.
